Toronto is the largest and most popular capital city in Canada. Perhaps misunderstood as the country’s capital, Toronto offers a good opportunity to experience Canada and some of its special moments.
The city is located on the north shore of Lake Ontario and has been growing exponentially over the past decade and undergoing massive development to new heights. In and around the city you will find a mix of activities from museums, parks, and fascinating landmarks. Wondering whether or not to visit? Here are five top reasons to go to Toronto.
Walk around most of the parks in the city
Toronto has a large number of parks (over 1400). These are scattered throughout the city and you are often referred to as the 'city in a park'.
Niagara Falls is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the world, with more than 168,000 meters of water sometimes flowing through it every minute. These waterfalls include Equestrian Falls (below), American Falls, and Bridesmaid Falls. They are located along the Niagara River and on the border between Canada and the United States.
Niagara Falls is easily accessible from Toronto
Another major reason to visit Toronto is that you can easily reach Niagara Falls. You can do this via a tour, bus, train, or drive (read more via the link below).

You can experience epic scenes from the CN Tower
The first thing you see when you enter Toronto is the tower above the city. Built-in 1976 and rising to 553 meters, it was once one of the tallest towers in the world (until 2010).
You can reserve a table in the CN Tower across its observation deck or in the revolving restaurant. For those with a head for height, you will also want to experience the Edgewalk, where you will be taken (safely). It is also worth noting that the CN Tower is illuminated at night with bright vibrant colors (they are great for taking photos).
Watch a baseball game at the Rogers Centre
Baseball is one of the most popular sports in Canada, with ice hockey and basketball. So if you decide to go to the city (in the summer) why not check out a sport? Rogers Center would be your best choice for this - adjacent to the CN Tower in downtown and the Blue Jays home in Toronto.
The Rogers Center is also a popular venue for live concerts and other events. Another cool feature of the Rogers Center is that the roof can be retracted, so this is outdoor at certain sports and when applicable.
Enjoy delicious food in restaurants
One thing you will definitely get in Toronto is the excellent food and excellent service. The city has it all, from the exit junctions to the upscale restaurants.
You will find that Canadian restaurants are actually trying to go the extra mile, so when you order you will receive a friendly waiter, with whom you can find a delicious meal in a friendly chat.
