To compile our list, it was not enough for a place blessed with extraordinary natural resources; Taking care of those resources was equally important. We chose these four destinations for their unique biodiversity as well as their local commitment to maintaining the beauty and integrity of these places.

Explore Costa Rica
Costa Rica practically has the same meaning as the term "Eco-tourism". Foggy cloud forests, black sand beaches, rain forests and fast-flowing rivers provide active tourists and outdoor activities for nature.

Many national parks in Costa Rica are home to a fantastic population of animals, including monkeys, sloths, crocodiles, jaguars, sea turtles, and poisonous dart frogs. Costa Rica is widely known for the distribution of wildlife refugees and the diversity of its flora and fauna.
Beautiful Palau
Long before survival, Palau Island was recognized as one of the world's leading diving destinations. Just off the coast, the crystal-clear sea is a colourful underwater wonderland, home to more than 500 species of coral and over 1,400 species of fish.
On land, tourists can take a walk along the undamaged beach or walk through the jungle. The remote location of Palau in the western part of Micronesia has helped to preserve its natural resources and cultural traditions from the adverse effects of large-scale tourism, and locals are working to ensure that their island paradise remains intact in the future. About 460 miles of reefs and lagoons are dedicated to fishing, allowing many endangered fish species to re-inhabit the area.

The Palau Conservation Association manages nearly two dozen conservation areas and promotes sustainable development to protect the fragile ecosystems of the islands.
Kenya
Kenya is best known for its vast sanctuaries of lions and elephants, but many tourists are unaware that it is home to mountains, lakes, rainforests, deserts and beaches. Kenya's incredible natural diversity is preserved in over 50 national parks and reserves throughout the country for the wildlife that migrates from the virgin rainforests of the Kakamega Forest Reserve to the Masai Mara National Reserve every July and August. On the beach, tourists can take a walk on the white beach or dive along the colourful coral reefs.
All tourism is focused on the eco-tourism industry in Kenya, which works to protect the local environment through community service and education projects.

Amazing Norwegian Fjords
Due to their remote location and strict environmental regulations, they help to preserve the beauty of Norway's famous Fjords with its snow-capped peaks, cascading waterfalls and crystal-clear waters. Visitors can go hiking or cycling through rough terrain or take a scenic boat ride on high boats.

It is home to a variety of wildlife including eagles, seals, porpoises and seabirds. Along with the natural attractions of the region, George also inhabits several small fishing villages where local cultural traditions have survived for hundreds of years.
